Waitlist

If you are even considering enrolling your child at the Ohio State University Child Care Program within the next year, it is suggested that you complete and return a Waitlist Application as soon as possible. You may cancel your waitlist application at any time.

  • All new children interested in childcare within the current year are added to the waitlist.
  • Children already enrolled in the Child Care Program are not required to re-enroll.
  • Waitlist application cards are numbered and dated when received. All children in the same family receive the same number.
  • The program's first commitment is to the families that are currently being served. After a family is enrolled, siblings have priority for openings.

Updates

The waitlist is updated yearly. Update information and materials are mailed to the address listed on the application card. The original number assigned and date received are transferred onto the update card before it is mailed out. The update application card must be mailed back to remain on the waitlist.

Returning Enrollee Priority

If a family has been enrolled for a year and takes a child out for a quarter, the child's name remains at the top of the waiting list for one quarter and will have priority second only to siblings in families already enrolled. Spaces are not reserved when a child is out for the quarter. It is likely that a child will have to wait 3 months or more for re-enrollment and thus may lose priority enrollment.

Acceptance Process

When your application is selected from the waitlist, the Child Care Program will notify you of your eligibility to enroll, and provide you with an enrollment packet. You will be asked for proof of university affiliation as well as copies of recent pay stubs in order to calculate your tuition. As a final step, you must make an appointment to complete enrollment.

Changes or Termination

Changes in enrollment or termination of enrollment require a one month notice.
