Informational Benefit Forums

Benefits offers a variety of informational benefit forums designed to provide information on specific benefits and access to benefit consultants to get your individual questions answered.


RETIREMENT PROGRAM FORUMS

You have 120 days from the effective date of your eligible appointment to choose a retirement program. During the 120-day enrollment period, you may elect to participate in the Ohio Alternative Retirement Plan (ARP), Ohio Public Employees Retirement System (OPERS) for staff, or State Teachers Retirement System of Ohio (STRS) for faculty.

The Office of Human Resources offers retirement planning forums to help you make this decision. During these sessions Benefits Consultants will compare key features of the ARP and OPERS/STRS, and will address issues you need to consider when making your decision.

The Life Event Web site provides you with information to consider when major life changes like retirement, marriage, or termination of employment occur. Each page lists your options, tells you who to consult with questions, links you to forms and publications, describes how to make changes to your benefits, and more.
