DID YOU KNOW THAT..
In 1878 the college's name was changed to The Ohio State University. In that same year the first class of six men graduated, and in 1879, the university graduated its first woman.

Organization & Human Resource Development (OHRD) Training Opportunities
A part of the Office of Human Resources, OHRD provides a variety of professional development opportunities including New Employee Orientation. OHRD offers free training classes during the workday on a variety of hot topics. Classes range from business writing to dealing with conflict, to creativity and everything in between!

Financial Planning Series
The Office of Human Resources presents a financial planning series designed to help you set and reach your financial goals. For the convenience of Ohio State faculty and staff, all of the FREE sessions last one hour and are scheduled to begin at noon.

REACH 1
This program offers university employees and their family members the opportunity to attend basic classes to improve their reading, writing, and math skills as well as to work toward a GED.

Continuing Education Courses
The Office of Continuing Education (CEd) at The Ohio State University provides programs and services to meet the needs of nontraditional students and working adults, including Academic Advising and Career Exploration Services, the Bridge Program , Conference Management, Contractual Outreach, Distance Learning, Noncredit Online and On-campus Courses, and Program 60 .

Computing Short Courses
The Office of Information Technology offers a variety of courses free of charge to faculty, staff and students. Course listings are send out through the year, and the most current schedule is available online.

Management Advancement for the Public Service (MAPS)
The Management Advancement for the Public Service (MAPS) Program offers training seminars that build management and leadership skills for top executives, mid-level managers, front-line supervisors, and administrative support staff.
