Adoption Assistance

Are you planning to adopt a child? The university provides reimbursement for some of the costs involved in adopting. Reimburses up to $4000 per child for eligible adoption-related expenses upon placement of a minor child in the home. There are no premium rates for the employee to pay.

This benefit is available for eligible Ohio State employees only.

You are automatically eligible for this benefit if you are eligible to enroll in a university-sponsored medical plan.

Adoption benefits may carry tax implications - consult your tax advisor.

When can I change my benefit elections?

You are automatically eligible for this benefit - there are no elections to make.

 

Have there been any recent changes to this benefit?
No.

What would cause this benefit coverage to end?

This benefit would end if the employee transfers to a non-benefit-eligible position, or leaves university employment.

What happens to this benefit when I leave OSU?

Benefit coverage ends when employment with the university ends.
